Icescape Ice Rink @ IOI City Mall |
Now not only Sunway Pyramid has an ice skating rink, IOI City Mall now has one called Icescape Ice Rink which is by far the largest ice surface that you can skate in Malaysia. Icescape Ice Rink located at the first floor of IOI City Mall and the rink spans 30m x 60m of ice surface with a breath-taking glass view. Newbies like me can go for leisure skating while professional can go for speed skating and Ice Hockey.
Admission fees for Icescape ICe Rink @ IOI City Mall |
At just RM23 - RM28 per entry you will able to learn ice skating at this new ice rink in town. You can always rent a Penguin skate for your children at RM30/hour. I saw parents and kid with the penguin, looks kinda fun =) Since there is no restaurant within the Ice Skating rink, you are advised to fill your stomach and get hydrated first so you can enjoy skating inside as much as possible. To save money, you are advised to bring your own gloves and socks as it is compulsory for skaters to wear them. As usual, it is better to go during weekdays and while the ice rink is still new. Below is a timelapse video recorded when people having fun on this new Ice Skating Rink in town. If you go now you will able to enjoy the new equipment like ice skating shoes and glove before they get stinky haha, but challenging thing is to queue for turns especially when you go during school holiday now.

Most of the dining restaurant are located at the LG floor but you can always walk around in the mall first to find your desired choice. I like the food at Ichiban Boshi and if you are born in November, they have a Buy 1 Free 1 Opening promotion going on for selected dish like Chirashi Don.
Spicy Salmon Salad @ Ichiban Boshi |
We tried this Spicy Double Yuzu - Fresh Salmon and Yellow Tail Fish with homemade Citrus Juice Topped with Chilli. Tasted kinda like Thai dishes but it is a nice dish to try especially if you love Salmon. I didn't saw any yellow tail fish slice so you may double confirm with the waiter while order.
Now I just wish I know the citrus juice recipe so I can prepare my own Spicy Salmon Yuzu haha.

TONY ROMA'S MOJO Chicken at IOI City Mall |

Sneak Peek of District21 Sky Trail in IOI City Mall |
I am kinda excited for this District21 Theme Park as it seems like you can do many things in one same place. Genting theme park is closed for renovation so it should be a good reason to check this place out after their opening on 1 December 2014. RM75 for active members RM15 for non-active (eg. parents/guardian)
7. Shop at the brand new TESCO Supermarket
I didn't take photo when I drop by the TESCO Outlet in IOI CIty Mall, but all I can say is it gave me a different feel if compared to other TESCO Supermarket in Town. This outlet looks more modern and oversea style where you buy your candy and snacks from a dispenser. You just need to check this place your self to understand what I was trying to say haha. Maybe Cold Storage like but this is still the Tesco. I hope they can become something like Jaya Grocers. Just feel very comfortable to do groceries shopping inside there.
I went there again for some grocery shopping and it seems like Tesco Puchong near IOI Mall has more varieties in product. But the meat and seafood seems fresher if compared to other branch. Hopefully Tesco can improve the quality of meat and seafood being sold in their wet market because it is always smelly during my visit at Tesco outlet.
8. Hangout around the fountain at IOI City Mall and Lake Symphony at night
There are plenty of space for you and your kids to hang out outside the mall |
At the main entrance of the mall you will able to see fountains around it. The weather is kinda hot at day time but during sunset hours it is best to come out here to hang out as there will be Lake Symphony at night. I've seen a lot parents with their kids during my visit and this could be a nice place for family photoshoot too. *email me for further details of family portrait session haha*

9. Watch movie at GSC and play bowling at Wangsa Bowl
Both GSC Cinema and Wangsa Bowl have not opened yet but these two are entertainment that you can do with your family and friends in future time.
10. Keeping this empty for you to figure it out. You can do more than 10 things in IOI CIty Mall
#TCBY Frozen Yoghurt @ IOI City Mall |
So I opened a Frozen Yoghurt Store in IOI City Mall and you must drop by kay? Remember to use hashtag #TCBY when you purchase any frozen yoghurt here so you are entitled for discount. Just kidding~ I do wish I own a store here but it would be related to photography for sure =) Talking about that I didn't see any camera shop located here. Maybe people nowadays prefer to purchase camera online ha?
