Samsung GALAXY S5, Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear Fit Launch in Malaysia 2014

Recently
Samsung GALAXY S5 was launched in Malaysia at
Pullman Bangsar Hotel. The venue where the event was held was grand. It was really hard to find parking a the hotel basement but thankfully got people guide us there.
Samsung Gear 2 and
Samsung Gear Fit were launched together with S5. Now let's have a look what's new in Samsung GALAXY S5 smartphone:

I guess the main reason why Malaysian athletes were invited to Malaysia's S5 launch was to highlight about the S Health and Heart Rate Sensor function which available for Samsung GALAXY S5, Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear Fit. I gotta admit I can't recognize that pretty girl is Pandalela Rinong herself until emcee announced VIP's name =) She has become much prettier lately! Or should I say I 'jakun' because this is the first time I saw her not in her athlete outfit? Haha!

Samsung GALAXY S5 is currently dust and water resistant (not water proof). You can bring it to the beach and pool but you should never submerge it into the water ya. I think this feature mainly make GALAXY S5 splash proof or even give you a higher chance to recover your phone in case it accidentally drop inside toilet bowl. Since I am more to an outdoor person, I think I will wait for Samsung GALAXY S5 Active version to available on the market. At lease it is more durable than its brother.

Immediately after the announcement of Samsung GALAXY S5, Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear Fit launching, media friends were invited to explore the functions of Samsung Galaxy S5 in terms of design, features, health and many more. There were plenty of lucky draws for media friends and I really wish I could bring home one unit during that time yo. Because my baby Samsung GALAXY S3 with broken GPS deserve an upgrade ;p

Samsung Gear 2 vs Samsung Gear Fit
If you ask me which one I prefer, I will choose Samsung Gear Fit because its battery can last longer than Samsung Gear 2. Another main reason I prefer Gear Fit is because it looks more trendy and stylish when one wear it on the wrist. I don't mind if my watch don't have that 2.0 Megapixels camera since my S5 will have a 16 MP camera =) Now I start imagine using it to monitor my gym routine already, especially heart rate sensor.

What's new about Samsung GALAXY S5??
The new and good thing about Samsung GALAXY S5 is always about the speed, camera function, battery capacity and with new feature of water/dust resistance. If you are user of Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3, I highly recommend you for an upgrade because the specs is definitely improved a lot. Even the camera is already 16 MP and can produce better photo. (Eg. Selective focus, HDR, and Fast Au Focus)
Now S5 also can create bokehlicious photo too (background blur and make object stand-out). It can definitely help create better photo for Instagram and other social media =D

Above is a photo captured using Samsung GALAXY S5 and I am quite satisfied with its low light quality. Tried the
'Selective Focus' as well and the speed to process the photo can be improved in next version. If you got the time for that special effect, it can definitely bring your mobile photography to the next level.
I can't tell you guys much because I only hands on a bit on these new gadgets. Let's hope I can get one for myself soon and share my experience with you! Waiting for new stock

If you are a person who like gadgets and love to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I truly think that Samsung GALAXY S5 and Samsung Gear Fit is the perfect combo for your new upgrade =) However, if you can wait (probably a few months or even half a year), you may wanna wait for Samsung Galaxy S5 Active to be available in Malaysia market because it is definitely more durable OR Samsung Galaxy K (Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom) which cater more for photographers. These two will be launched in later time.

Samsung GALAXY S5 currently selling at RM2,399 in Malaysia, while Samsung Gear 2 retail priced at RM899 and Samsung Gear Fit selling at RM599. This time there isn't any combo package available by any telco but our Malaysia Telcos (Maxis, Celcom, Digi) has many different offers available and your gadget will be cheaper with 24 month data plan contract.

If you are currently a user of Samsung GALAXY S2/S3, I highly recommend you guys to upgrade to S5 for better performance and battery capacity (2,800 mAh). Because of the USB 3.0 port you can charge your phone in faster speed too, which mean your life and work will be more efficient with this new gadget. However, RM2,399 is pricey for most of us (including me) and I might double consider if I need to get it at the retail price. If you are buying through online store, please make sure you use Cash On Delivery (COD) to avoid disappointment.
If you think normal watch is too outdated, Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear Fit will definitely be your choice. If I were you, I will definitely pick the trendy and cheaper Samsung Gear Fit which selling at RM599 =)
