'Volkswagen On Tour' will be available at 13 different locations in Malaysia!

Last weekend me and girlfriend had a short trip to Penang as I have a photoshoot on the island and will proceed to celebrate girlfriend's dad's birthday in Ipoh afterwards.  It was a super sunny day during my visit to the Penang Island but it never stops me from exploring delicious food here. 

I was staying somewhere near Sungai Ara and Queensbay Mall is the nearest shopping mall I can 'lepak' at. Later then I found out that Volkswagen Malaysia embarked their nationwide brand showcase, the 'Volkswagen On Tour' at 13 locations nationwide and Volkswagen Malaysia started its tour at Queensbay Mall, Penang. 

Recently launched Volkswagen Polo Sedan at 'Volkswagen On Tour' Road Show

Since it is free admission for visitors at ‘Volkswagen On Tour’, I get to experience different exciting stuff at the exhibition area of more than 11,000 sq. ft. Let me share with you what you can see and what I did here:

What a coincidence!!

At the 'Volkswagen On Tour' road show, you will be able to get up close and personal with various Volkswagen vehicles on display. Whether it’s the recently launched 2014 Polo Sedan, the current World Car of The Year, the seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf or the iconic Beetle. During my visit, you can choose to test-drive four different Volkswagen models.

Since KY is here as well, we decided to take turn to be the driver-passenger and experience different models of Volkswagen vehicles. He test drove the Polo Sedan and I decided to test out the Volkswagen Jetta instead.

Don't under estimate a food blogger as KY can really drive and speed up like a racer ;p I enjoyed the ride at the spacious passenger seats while waiting for my turn to take control on the new ride.

After test drive Volkswagen Jetta, I gotta admit that technology has greatly improved. Including how to control your mirrors and speaker volume through driving panel, the speedy pick up when you simply press on that pedal. With the TSI+DSG functions in Volkswagen Jetta, I can easily change gears with just a press at the side of the steering. You can call me noob as I haven't get use to that but I love the S (Sport) driving mode. The car can really pick-up so fast with just a slight press on that pedal. *vroom vroom* I will need some time to get use to the breaking system as well. You don't need to press that hard to halt your car anymore.  *Looks like my leg need to do more Yoga for flexibility to control the pedals haha*

Cycle to generate power to pop your popcorn

It was really tiring to cycle for almost 3 minutes just to pop the popcorn!!

Beside being able to meet the cute Volkswagen mascot 'Blu', I found something fun to do at 'Volkswagen On Tour' exhibition. You can cycle and make your own popcorn!! I gotta tell you first,  it is NOT easy to do this as I think I cycled for around 3 minutes just to enjoy my sweet rewards later. *sore legs*

KY the big baby on child safety seat

The public will get a chance to familiarize Volkswagen’s advance safety technology i.e. range of child safety seats and ISOFIX (child seat anchor). KY is a huge baby that weight more than 19 kg haha

One of the mission is to familiarise with Volkswagen  and its history by scanning a logo on the board. Video will be shown on the iPad

Volkswagen - The Beetle

I guess most of the people especially my girlfriend like The Beetle very much. I find it quite elegant and cute at the same time. Definitely good for couple like us; If you have a family, I think you need something bigger than the Beetle, probably Volkswagen Jetta??

 ‘Think Blue’ is one of the highlights of ‘Volkswagen On Tour’. Visitors will be able to learn more about fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions for a sustainable mobility, as well as how Volkswagen is applying innovative and award-winning automotive technology to achieve a better tomorrow.

A very cool driving simulator available at 'Volkswagen On Tour'

You can experience the virtual race with Volkswagen Golf GTI through driving the simulator and imagine that you and Volkswagen Motorsports won the 2013 World Rally Championship (WRC). All I did was pressing hard on the pedals for speedy ride and win the trophy!!

After you have completed all 5 different 'challenges' to complete the Volkswagen coaster, you can redeem a mystery gift at the registration counter. I am not gonna tell you what is it as it is a surprise to you!! Remember to take creative photo with the coaster as well to join their Instagram contest as you can win a 2 weeks driving experience with your favourite Volkswagen car!! I still thinking what photo to submit so I can win a ride and drive it all the way up to Genting Highland!!
