HuaiBin, Budiey and TianChad getting ready to Pahang!
Hello bello everybody, today I would like to share about my journey to Pahang to help the Orang Asli in Kampung Jemery (Kuala Rompin) to get access to uninterrupted water supply. This project is called PETONAS Water For Life and it is an ongoing CSR project carried out together by PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS). I am glad that three bloggers (HuaiBin, Budiey and myself) were invited to take part this time to contribute to the society =)

Prior to the programme, the villagers had to walk half a kilometre to draw water from the well and on days where water supply was low, they had to brave through a 5km journey to reach the nearest river.

Beautiful oil palm estate along the journey to Kuala Rompin
We departed from PETRONAS Twin Towers and travel to Kuala Rompin by bus. It was all about beautiful greenery along the way to there.  I love the view of the oil palm estate.

Program Water For Life @ Kampung Jemery, Kuala Rompin

Our mission in Kampung Jemery was to install three water tanks around the neighbourhood so that the local won't need to trouble themselves to walk all the way to the nearest water source everyday. Food and toys were prepared as well to give the children some surprise. All of us were divided into four different groups and our group is handling the third water tank, which is the furthest into the village.

Prepare the water pipe and go through the bushes to link all three water tanks

Thanks to awesome team-mates, we manage to complete everything within just hour. We need to measure the distance from tank to tank using the 100 metres. Therefore it is crucial to make sure that the first and second tank installed in the right position as we want to make sure the pipes are long enough to connect the third water tank.

Another thing that worth remember is the moment we pull the water pipe from one station to another. We went through the bushes, oil palm estate and spotted some beautiful and simple house built by the Orang Asli. This house is fully built using bamboo and tree leaves. Check out this awesome place!!

Crawled into the water tank to install important part of the water tank.
The most interesting thing that I did was to crawl inside the water tank to install the crucial part of the water dispenser. I volunteered myself as I am the "skinniest" to do this task. So next time when people ask, what I did in Kampung Jeremy? I can proudly say I was inside this water tank before you can start drinking yo! Isn't that cool? Lol

Selfie with happy kids who got their candies =D

During this trip, the most memorable is still the moment where we spent time together with the kids in the village. They easily get happy when they receive candies. Just as simple as that! I am happy when they saw their own photo through my camera screen as well. Their smiles are just PRICELESS =D

I would like to thanks PETRONAS for letting me in taking part in their Water For Life CSR Programme. It was a bit tiring but I am happy I can contribute and do something beneficial for the people. I'm looking forward for the next stage of the programme and hope to meet the kids again! Oh yeah, dog and cat living in harmony in that place.

Beautiful beach at Kuala Rompin. Can spot starfish and hermit crabs easily!

On a side note, I was staying at Lanjut Golden Beach Golf Resort which has a very peaceful beach and blissful wind. Found a super-duper active starfish and some hermit crabs crawling around the beach. Hope that I will able to drop by here again to enjoy the seafood BBQ and quiet beach with my other half in future time!! Till then, thanks for reading and hope you can share this good deed with your friends!
