How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

Synopsis:
The film is set in a mythical world of Vikings and dragons. The story centers around a viking teenager named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen’s smarts and offbeat sense of humor is disliked by his tribe and its chief, Hiccup’s father, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler). However, when Hiccup is included in Dragon Training with the other viking teens, he sees his chance to prove he has what it takes to be a fighter. After he entangles a dragon with a bolas-shooting cannon, Hiccup releases and ends up befriending the dragon, who he dubs Toothless. This relationship flips his world upside down as he strives to convince his tribe that they don't need to be dragon-slayers but he ends up making the tribe angry and they lead a attack on the dragons home.

Thanks Kellster as yesterday night I was given a chance to watch "How To Train Your Dragon" 10 days earlier than the premier. This is a 3D movie that suitable for both kids and grown up. The enhanced depth almost makes the character came out from the movie screen. I still remember the kids in cinema said,"Mom, I can see things coming out!". Children nowadays are so fortunate right?

This movie involves a scene where a father was hoping his son to become a viking that is exactly like him and others, but ignoring his talent to expertise in something else. Fortunately at last, his father is proud with what his son is capable of. The storyline is straightforward but it always keep you in pace of what happen, no dragging moment.

Hiccup is different from other vikings as instead of killing a dragon, he train them. His real journey start when he met the dragon Night Fury @ Toothless. It give us a different view on dragons and Toothless looks very cute and smart in the movie. I am sure you will love it once you see it.

Because of the fun and happy storyline plus 3D effects that won't cause you dizzy, I will rate this movie: 8/10. You definitely have to watch this movie when it start screening at 25th March 2010~!

PS: Here is a tips for you when you are watching 3D movie. Choose seats that is at the centre because with that you will get to experience the nicely done 3D effects without any distortion.
